I am so honored that my very first solo film shoot is featured today on 100 Layer Cake.
About this beautiful bride: she works in the hillsides, gathering flora and fauna, preserving it in glass jars. Her lover is a sailor, usually at sea. For their tiny wedding, they meet in between the hillsides and the sea. She gathers a bouquet that includes Queen Anne's lace, coffee berry, thistle, dahlias, and grasses. The backdrop for their wedding ceremony is simple: a fabric hung from tree branches that recalls the billowing sail of his shio. She prepares a simple feast for them by the water's edge: fresh figs, blackberries, cheese, and surprises him with drawings she's made for the day. With her are her specimens: larkspur, succulents, tillandsia, acorns. They enjoy their simple wedding meal before they must part ways yet again.

This beautiful shoot would not have been possible without the brilliance, creativity, and collaboration of the talented Meredith Law of M. Designs. She and I have worked together on many a wedding, and it was so much fun to dream this up together. It also would not have been possible without everyone I met at the Erich McVey workshop this summer. Erich, his crew, and the participants alike all left me deeply inspired, wildly opened up to dreaming. Thank you.
