About 

At heart, I’m a storyteller. My childhood along the Northern California coast was spent wandering,

dreaming, and capturing. At Stanford and the Columbia Journalism School I studied journalism,

launching a career telling stories on everything from farm workers to prisoners, artists to organic

gardening. I was drawn to wedding and family photography by my insatiable love of both beauty

and stories, and found the work increasingly irresistible. I started Julie Kay Kelly Photography

in 2007 to tell all kinds of stories. Now, despite being globally published and at the height of

my craft, each story still feels like a new gift. My greatest joy is in documenting couples and

families beautifully, creating a treasure and an heirloom they will spend their lives reveling in,

handing down to their children and grandchildren.
