Crystal & Chris's Chateau St. Jean Wedding | Sonoma Wedding Photography
Crystal and Chris met in September 2019, connecting over their love for travel, adventuring, and their shared view of the world. Six months later, the world stopped, but their relationship didn’t. They say the incredible amount of time they spent together helped them grow together, and their love of adventure allowed them to push past the world’s restrictions to keep creating adventures of their own.
In our first conversation, they told me how important it was to them to be able to enjoy their wedding day without having to pose all day for photographs. I told them about my storytelling approach, which deeply resonated for them. The beauty of Chateau St. Jean was also very important to them, so they wanted to make sure that it was well captured in their images. For me, story is about people, but also about place. Stories are layers, and they are everywhere. Also, I love Chateau St. Jean, and couldn’t wait to be back.
We started the day upstairs in the getting ready room at Chateau St. Jean, but soon came downstairs to take advantage of beautiful light pouring through the windows. There, Crystal’s maid of honor helped her put her shoes on. The anticipation ran high. I always love the intensity of it.
Crystal and Chris were married in Chateau St. Jean’s beautiful rose garden, surrounded by friends and family, with their sweet niece acting as the beautiful flower girl.
Following the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails on the grand lawn, an open air tent in the olive grove for dinner nearby.
Crystal and Chris added so many special touches to their wedding, including live music from The Killer Dueling Pianos and live painting from artist Talia Koval
There’s nothing like sunset in wine country, and we made sure to make the most of it out in Chateau St. Jean’s beautiful vineyards.
I’m so grateful to Crystal and Chris for inviting me into their beautiful day. I know they have so many amazing adventures ahead, and I can’t wait to watch them unfold.
