Meadowood: Amazing wedding venues in Northern California and the Napa Valley
Meadowood
(Note: this post is one in a series describing Napa Valley and Northern California wedding venues I love.. You can see the whole list of venues and some more background about this series here)
Meadowood is another long-time favorite of mine - it's off-the-grid, nature-lush, and tucked away. To get there, you drive along roads edged with trees, mountains, and vineyards. While there are other establishments somewhat nearby, they feel pretty distant. Once you turn onto Meadowood Lane, you move even further into a private escape. And once you've arrived at the end of Meadowood Lane, you're in a whole new world that feels far from everything.
Meadowood is not a vineyard venue. Instead, it has sweeping open spaces ringed with lush, towering redwoods. That sense of open space can be hard to come by in wedding venues, so I love getting to experience it at Meadowood. Same goes for the redwood trees, which I love as a California Coast native.
Another thing I love about Meadowood as a photographer is that, unlike some wine country venues, it has an abundance of beautiful portrait locations that offer open shade throughout the day so that I don't have to squeeze every romantic portrait into the 15-30 minutes when the sun is perfect before sunset.
I've photographed at Meadowood more times than I can count. If you want to see how different weddings there look, take a peek at some of these weddings:
Bonnie & David (on Style Me Pretty)
Carrie & Paul (on 100 Layer Cake)
Helen & Chris (coming soon!)
Or, if you're interested in a more detailed description of what's great about Meadowood fill out the form below (or e-mail me directly), and I'll email you my favorite tips and tricks about the property.
P.S. If the groom in the photo looks familiar, it's probably because you know something about NFL football (unlike me) and recognize Pittsburgh Steelers player David DeCastro :)
P.P.S. Want to know what the wedding of an NFL player is like? Think: huge groomsmen in portrait photos and LOTS of food
